A good snapshot keeps a moment from running away. – Eudora Welty

For me, photography is a passion born out of my hobbies – hiking, kayaking, biking, travel, and a love of animals. I aim to capture random and rare moments outdoors, often overlooked in the rush to arrive at a destination. Slowing down, observing, and shifting perspective allow me to capture unique and often unexpected images.

My photos reflect the subtleties of the varied landscapes, flora, and fauna of the places where I have lived, visited, and explored. From a birdbath filled with fall leaves in a friend’s backyard, to a moment of abandon at the bottom of Bridal Falls; from two cows checking out a tall guy with a camera, to a horse in a field as a thunderstorm approaches over the Bitterroot Mountains, my photos “keep the moment from running away.”

My photographs have been displayed as murals for Yahoo Inc.'s data center, selected as artwork by publishers Wolsak & Wynn, and featured on the RootsRated hiking website. My photo Feel the Power was awarded ‘Best in Show’ at the Castellani Art Museum “Eagle Eye” 2018 photography exhibit and 3rd place at the 2019 Lewiston Art Festival. It was also recently featured in a panel discussion on the literary, ecological, spiritual, and cultural significance of Niagara Falls.
